To build in comfort, we’ve worked meticulously on our tubing design as well as our materials layup to create the ultimate hardtail that cruises at high speeds over the most arduous terrain. Internal cable routing keeps the cables clean, while giving the bike that tidy look.

Compatible with both mechanical and electronic shifting.

The Ignite A hardtail MTB effortlessly turns singletracks into your own personal playground. As part of the Hydro Series, the frame is made of high quality 6061 triple-butted, hydroformed, double-pass flat welded aluminium that we shape and weld with care and sustainability. The tube walls are thinner in the center and become slightly thicker towards the ends. All these special techniques come together to create an incredibly balanced, lightweight yet stiff frame.

In addition, this MTB has a boosted rear axle and an updated race geometry. When combining all these features with many others carried over from Ridley’s years of expertise, you get an Ignite A that delivers a very responsive, stable, confidently playful cycling experience.

This MTB features an extremely ingenious carbon lay-up which is key in achieving such amazing riding characteristics that you’ll feel from the first pedal stroke. At the front end of the bike we use Toray Carbon with high tensile strength. At the rear, we opted for a different carbon lay-up to maximize vertical flex. The increased steering angle (trail) provides an extra stable riding feel. Our R&D also gave the seat stays an asymmetrical, oval shape to maximize stiffness. We don’t let a single Watt go to waste!

The result is an Ignite SLX MTB that’s light, stiff and agile. Take those flowing singletracks and steep slopes faster than anyone else…for the win!

Ignite is our very lightweight 29er hardtail designed for XC competition. If you’re looking to improve your speed and handling skills, the Ignite is your answer. Excellent power transfer due to its built-in stiffness. Its tapered head tube increases front end stiffness for optimal steering and control. Thru-axles add to its stiffness, as does its integrated postmount disc brakes.

Compatible with both mechanical and electronic shifting. Also compatible with an internally routed dropper post.

About the Ignite SLX
The Ignite SLX is Ridley’s brand-new hardtail mountainbike, made for those who are looking for a race-ready, high-performance machine. The frame weight has been trimmed by 160 grams compared to the Ignite SL, which makes it the lightest mountainbike frame in our history.

The 148-mm Boost rear spacing creates a very stiff rear triangle, while the 89.5-mm-wide bottom bracket ensures maximum power transfer. Not a single watt is wasted! What’s more, the thin 27.2-mm seat post provides that extra bit of compliance and comfort.

With an up-to-date XC geometry, the Ignite SLX now competes with market-leading hardtails. The combination of a slacker head tube angle, increased fork offset and short chain stays results in improved high-speed control while offering nimble handling to make sure you can nail that next corner.
