<p>Not long ago disc brake bikes were relegated to the endurance and recreation crowd. They were looked as a way to run larger tires, with slacker geometry. . .perfect for the all-day cyclist who was in no particular hurry. Then, racers started getting ahold of disc brakes and realized the benefits of better braking and larger tires. A hot debate ensued and continues to this day. Even the UCI (governing body of bike racing) got involved which never makes anything easy. However, the technology has won and today you see disc brakes used on race bikes for all racing conditions.</p>

However, with the ability to run hidden cables and with no fork mounted brake caliper available, disc brake bikes soon surpassed rim brake bikes in terms of aero drag. This led the way for the newest crop of time trial and triathlon disc brake bikes which have leapt in popularity.</p>
<p>The TT Carbon Disc wheel is born from that desire to pair an incredibly aero wheelset to that newly designed aero bike. If you are looking to be as aero as possible for those efforts against the clock, this is the best way to propel yourself forward.</p>

<p>The Skyuka hub features 10 degree engagement, a centerlock design, and Abec 3 sealed cartridge bearings. The Skyuka rear hub is available in a Shimano Hyperglide and Sram XDR freehub body and requires no tools to swap between the different freehub body standards.</p>

Using a 650b X 47mm tire you have the same outside tire diameter as a 700c road tire. So for your gravel bike you can run the 650b gravel tires for off road riding, and swap to 700c road wheels for road group rides and nothing changes with the geometry or gear ratio on the bike. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>This is for the Boost version. To run this version you need a Boost spaced MTB fork. Your standard gravel or cyclocross fork will NOT work with a Boost hub.</strong></p>
<p>Pillar Wing 20 J-Bend spokes and alloy nipples are laced double-cross with 24 spoke front and 28 spoke rear. The ultra-light, yet durable, 370-gram rim (370 gram/29er; 340 gram/27.5) measures 26mm internal, featuring a 2.8mm offset rim bed for better tension balance and a more responsive wheel build.</p>
<p>These specs total up to a 1380-gram (1380 gram/29er, 1330 gram/27.5) wheelset that has a modern day wider rim design and can handle the rigors of cross country mountain bike riding.</p>
<p>For more extreme terrain, the 30mm Ridgeline Enduro wheels are a perfect pick.</p>
<p>Cross Country mountain bikers will lust after the nimble, yet durable wheelset. If your events have you looking for a weight advantage while still riding off the pavement, the Trailblazer is the option for you.</p>
<p>The rim is strong enough to be ridden on mountain bike trails, gravel roads, and for cyclocross. Due to the fact, however, that most current mountain bikes and gravel bikes having different dropout width standards, the Trailblazer wheels will be most often used as a mountain bike wheel with Boost spacing and a gravel or cyclocross wheel with standard 100mm front and 142mm rear spacing.</p>

<p>Your mountain bike races are won on the uphills, not a timed segment downhill. Going lighter without sacrificing rim width and durability is key to better performance.  You are already gaining weight with a larger tire, offset that with a lighter wheel!</p>

<p>The CCC is a gravel-specific wheelset<strong> </strong>built to take you far off the beaten path. The new light weight, durable alloy wheelset complements Boyd’s current carbon Pinnacle 700c and Jocassee 650b offering and promises adventure at an affordable $700 price point.</p>
<p>The CCC, a name engrained in history as the wooded roads it represents, borrows its moniker from the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The CCC was a voluntary public unemployment program designed to provide jobs for young men and to help families who faced challenges finding jobs during the Great Depression. In the mountains of South Carolina there are remnants of “Old CCC” roads deep in the woods that have become favorite exploration destinations for Boyd Johnson, founder of Boyd Cycling.</p>
<p>The 6069 series alloy rim weighs in at 415 grams in a 700c size and 395 grams in the 650b. Built with the highly rated Quest Disc Brake hubs, the complete wheelset nets a scant 1515 grams for 700c set and 1475 grams for the 650b. Spoke count options are 24f/28r and 28f/32r built using Pillar Wing 20 spokes and external brass nipples.</p>

<p>“Going way off the beaten path and onto roadbeds that haven’t been active for decades is some of the most fun I’ve had on a bike,” said Johnson. “I’ve come across old moonshine distilleries and people on 4-wheelers, but <em>never </em>any traffic. Going that remote means the durability of the equipment is a must.”</p>
<p>With that in mind the CCC is a wheelset that can handle rugged off-road terrain, while still performing on pavement sections.  The alloy gravel-specific rim is 25mm internal and has a 2.8mm offset. It features smaller .7mm hooks (compared to most standard 1.1mm hooks) with increased thickness on the hook walls (1.35mm) for better impact protection while running lower pressures.</p>
