Small in Size, Big on Features
An uncluttered cockpit is a thing of beauty and often we will forgo a cycling computer in an attempt to keep a tidier workspace. Cycling is however, a data driven sport and there are moments when we need to stay connected. The Wahoo ELEMNT MINI has become a favorite of ours because of its large display despite its compact size and ease of use. Something about it just looks right perched on our stem. We found the MINI super easy in operation and with just two buttons, toggling between screens to view metrics on rides is very intuitive.
The MINI comes with Wahoo’s RPM Speed sensor and is ready to record speed, distance, and time right out of the box. If you want even more data, you can pair it with Wahoo Heart Rate and Cadence Sensors, sold separately. The biggest features of the MINI are accessed after downloading the Companion App and syncing the MINI to your iOS or Android phone.
Once paired with a smartphone, the MINI can show you an entire route map, elevation, and post ride statistics and has the ability to sync rides to third party cycling apps. Our favorite feature is the ability to send a Live Track link of your location to friends and family so they can follow you in real time. This is not only a great safety feature, it also helps you keep track of how late your buddy is to the coffee shop ride. (Or lets your group know that you had trouble getting out the door that morning.) Pop up phone notifications let you know at a glance if it is necessary to pull over respond to texts and calls.
